Man Remains in Custody After ‘Threatening to Kill’ Woman at Basildon Petrol Station

A man has been arrested on suspicion of threatening to kill a woman at a garage in Basildon.

Police were called to the Asda petrol station in Tinkler Side after receiving reports of a disturbance at around 4.35pm yesterday (Monday,July 23).

Officers who attended the scene were told a man had cut his hand on a car window following an altercation with a woman.

Following the incident, a 32-year-old man from Laindon was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, harassment, malicious communications and making threats to kill.

This afternoon (Tuesday, July 24), a spokesman for Essex Police confirmed the suspect was still in custody.
